My name is Hope and I am a Clinical Psychologist and researcher working in the area of stillbirth and perinatal loss.

I have been working with mental health and/or learning disability for 10 years. My experience has included secure hospitals and prison services, learning disability, adult mental health, cancer care, maternity/neonatal, and camhs. I have recently worked alongside Professor Alex Heazell at the St Marys Rainbow Clinic to set up the first psychological pathway within rainbow clinics in the UK; supporting parents' psychological needs during a pregnancy subsequent to loss as well as within neonatal ICU. More recently, I have developed the Sands Connect initiative in collaboration with Manchester Sands, to support their families with individual or couple  therapy. Being a rainbow baby myself, I have a huge passion to improve care for those who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death and SIDS. 

I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The University of Manchester in 2024. My undergraduate degree was in Translation with German and Spanish at Cardiff University; however, life led me down the path of psychology and I completed a MSc in Psychology (conversion) at Oxford Brookes in 2018. Whilst this is not a traditional route into psychology, my background in linguistics has been a huge benefit to me when writing for publication and proof reading larger texts!
